PUTRAJAYA:The government will further review its use of two separate foreign worker management systems that allegedly have overlapping functions, as revealed by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) last Wednesday.
Home minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the home ministry is looking into it and will also examine the PAC’s findings regarding the two systems.

KUALA LUMPUR: More than two million foreign workers are in Malaysia as of May 31 this year, the Dewan Rakyat was told.
The Human Resources Ministry said the 2,307,746 foreign workers are from the industrial, construction, service, plantation, agriculture, domestic work and mining and quarrying sectors.
The industrial sector recorded the highest number of foreign workers at 730,999 followed by construction (646,508), service (394,739), plantation (263,151), agriculture (171,103), domestic work (100,675) and mining and quarrying (571).

PUTRAJAYA (ANN/THE STAR) – The Malaysian Immigration Department shared that a total of 51,838 undocumented immigrants have been detained in nationwide enforcement operations this year, according to the Department’s Director-General Datuk Ruslin Jusoh.
The Director-General acknowledged the concerns of some Malaysians regarding the presence of undocumented immigrants.
“Between January 1 and July 16, we conducted 9,289 operations at 224 hotspots nationwide, averaging about 51 operations daily.
