PASSPORT RENEWAL FOR INDIAN NATIONALITY WORKING IN MALAYSIA [updated 2024]

 Renewal of Passport without change in details : 18 years and above

Check list : 

• Two (2”x2” size) white background photograph
• Passport of the applicant in original
• Copy of Passport (first page, last page)
• Copies of VISA pages
• If having Dependent (Spouse) Visa: Copy of VISA and Passport copy of spouse and original marriage certificate, if spouse name is not endorsed in passport.
• If having Tourist Visa: Copy of VISA, IC copy (if sponsor is a Malaysian citizen) or passport copy- first page, visa page and last page (if sponsor is an Indian citizen) and the sponsor letter.
• If passport renewal is under 1st Malaysia visa then please provide copies of Calling visa, Levy Receipt, Company letter (English) mentioning the applicant working for that company.

Procedure for Application : 

• Online form
• Applicant for Indian Passport is required to visit the website, https://embassy.passportindia.gov.in
• Please choose country Malaysia carefully
• Register & keep credentials safely (It will also help in tracking the process)
• Login & fill up the form
• Please fill in the form exactly as per the previous passport, if there is no change in any fields. Any change in spelling without documentary proof may lead to undesired delay in issuance.
• Please choose the police station carefully or else adverse police reports may lead to undesired delay/denial of passport. (Click here to Know your Police Station)
• Please take a printout of the duly filled online application form after successful submission and affix the photograph. The form must be signed by the applicant. (In case of a minor applicant, the form must be countersigned by parents/legal guardian)

• Please attach the documents as per applicable category in the checklist. Any change in entry (even a change of letter/digit/character) MUST be supported with additional documents specified under “Additional document in r/o change in any of the passport entries or lost/damaged passport” in the checklist.

For issue of ordinary fresh passport or reissue of passport containing 36 pages having validity of ten years (also applicable to minors in the age group of fifteen to eighteen years) is 

Normal USD 75.00 

Tatkaal : USD : 225.00

For issue of ordinary fresh passport or reissue of passport containing 60 pages having validity of ten years (also applicable to minors in the age group of fifteen to eighteen years) is 

Normal USD 100.00 

Tatkaal : USD : 250.00

Note : 

• For Conversion of USD to RM please follow the exchange rate
• In addition to the above fees for passport and related services, amounts of USD 2.00 (RM 9.00) will be charged towards Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF) fee 
• RM 9.50 towards the service fee by the service provider, the BLS International Services Ltd. 
• Additionally 1.5% of the total fee to be paid will be charged on payments made by Debit Card.

Processing Time : 

Processing times vary for different categories. Under normal circumstances, minimum processing time is one week. However, it is also subject to clear police verification from India on your Indian address.

FAQ:

When i can submit for reissue before the date of expiry?

The passport can be submitted for reissue up to 1 year before the date of expiry

Can I apply for additional pages in my passport / additional booklet?

Applicants are required to apply for reissue of passport on exhaustion of pages.

Is it mandatory to have Police Verification at the time of reissue of passport?

As per the current guideline, Police Verification is a must in all the cases of reissue of passports. Applicants are therefore advised to furnish the current Indian address for verification. Incorrect address may cause delay in the issuance of passport. The police station in India must be selected carefully as per the Indian address. Once police verification is launched, applicants get information in this regard on their e-mail. Applicants are advised to contact their respective police stations if no information received about police verification within three weeks.

Fees once paid are not refundable
