What is the Investor Pass / Visa?

The Investor Pass / Visa is a multiple-entry visa (MEV) program designed to to enhance the efficiency of entry processes and facilitate longer stays in Malaysia to support business and investment activities. 

Investor Pass/visa holders are permitted to enter Malaysia for a duration of six (6) months, with the opportunity to extend for an additional six (6) months based on the applicant's reason and requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Business visitors or foreign investors who fit into any of the following three (3) categories can apply for the Investor Pass:
  1. New Investor: Potential investors who have not had any investment record in Malaysia.
  2. Investor in Pipeline: Potential investors who have been identified as interested in making investments in Malaysia, are currently in negotiations with the Malaysian Government, or have applied to MIDA for project approvals.
  3. Existing Investor: Investors who have investment records in Malaysia and SSM-registered companies but are not under the employment of the company or any companies in Malaysia. Note: The Existing Investor category is only available for Manufacturing and Selected Services sectors under MIDAs purview
Sectors governed by other agencies will be available in Phase 2.

Other Important Details
  • Applicants must use a business email address. Please note that public email domains such as @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com are not eligible for registration.
  • Applicants must be outside of Malaysia at the time they apply for the Investor Pass.
  • Documents that were not originally written in English must be translated appropriately by the embassy of the relevant nation or by approved translation services.
  • The Investor Pass facility is only applicable in Peninsular Malaysia and the Federal Territory of Labuan, excluding Sabah and Sarawak.
